Source: 3-D Model
Here is the 3-D model I created of an equestrian sculpture in the collection of the Ackland Art Museum. I had a lot of fun making this model, and I also learned a great deal about modeling, as this was the first such model I have ever made. The detail on this particular sculpture is, as you can see, quite intricate, and while I successfully captured much of the detail on the upper half of the figure, there are some significant lapses on the underside of the figure. The reins, in particular, are not well defined in the model, and become kind of blobby towards the bottom of the horse’s mouth. In retrospect, I would have been well served to also taken a series of photographs looking up from below the figure. However, I am still pleased with this model and excited to share it!
